The Heard 28 is designed along the lines of the Falmouth Working Boat, with a heavily built GRP hull for practicality and a comfortable cruising interior. Built in Falmouth by a traditional family run yard they retain the charm and character. 'Laura June' is presented in a fantastic condition and has been well cared for.

Accommodation
Offering up to 5 berths with one separate sleeping cabin. Up forward is the large V-berth, deck opening hatch and good storage. In the saloon there is a L-shape settee berth that converts to a double. Opposite to port there is a single berth with a chart table that folds away. Heads compartment is to port with a Jabsco marine toilet and hanging locker. Opposite to starboard is the linear galley with a Plastimo 2 burner gas hob with oven & grill. Stainless steel sink with hot & cold pressurised water. Fridge & freezer under the companionway stairs. Good storage throughout the boat. Grey Upholstery. Radio. 6ft6 headroom.
Mechanical Systems
Located beneath cockpit sole is the Beta Marine 30hp 3-cylinder diesel engine. Fresh water cooled via a heat exchanger. Single lever controls with electric start. Stainless steel 90 litre fuel tank. Shaft drive to a feathering 3-bladed propeller. Approximately 320 hours. Last serviced July 2022.

Spars & Sails
Gaff rigged cutter with lifting bowsprit. Varnished keel stepped spruce mast, gaff and bowsprit by Noble Marine (2008). Solid pine varnished boom (1988). Stainless steel standing rigging (2008). Terylene running rigging. Slab reefing mainsail with lazyjacks. Wykeham Martin furling system for the jib. Hank on staysail. The bowsprit lifts up to shorten the overall length, saving on marina charges and making her easier to manoeuvre in tight corners. 4 self tailing Lewmar winches. Construction
Heard 28 moulded in 1988 by Gaffers & Luggers of Mylor, Falmouth and originally designed by Percy Dalton as a replica of the Falmouth Working Boat. Light grey coloured GRP hull (painted 2008) with varnished timber rubbing strake and toe rail. Sheathed plywood decks with grey painted non-slip surfaces. Sheathed plywood coachroof with varnished grab handles. Long keel with encapsulated lead ballast and keel hung rudder. Tiller steering. The hull was peeled and epoxied below the waterline in 2008. Last surveyed in 2021.
