Specification

Bavaria 40, built in 2002. Aquila features a fin keel with a Volvo D2-55 55hp engine, inmast furling, 3 double cabins with two heads and holding tank.

The standing and was replaced 2015 with rigging check 2025 and is complete with Radar and Autopilot electric anchor windlass.

Construction

Constructed of multi mat GRP and foam cored stiffening sections and stiffened by bonded-in grp liner/grillage, with part

bonded bulkheads, half bulkheads, and longitudinal stringers. The liner/grillage forms the primary stiffening and keel support

structure and provides fit out and support for bulkheads, internal floors and furniture, and is perimeter bonded and flange

laminated to the hull. The one piece deck moulding is of foam cored multi mat grp and is bond jointed to the hull shell at the

sheer flange and transom.

The topsides are finished in a white gel coat with navy style stripes

External cast iron fin ballast keel.

Wheel steering is by Whitlock cable linkage to an alloy quadrant to a GRP spade ruder on an alloy stock section. Rudder replaced 2024

Accommodation

The Bavaria 40 can comfortably accommodate six people in private double cabins. The forward double cabin has a private

en-suite head with a hot and cold water to hand basin only.

The two after double cabins share a second head with shower. If necessary, a single settee berth can be created in the saloon.

Saloon with u-shape seating to port and forward facing chart table aft. large saloon table with galley opposite.

Galley with twin sinks, Two burner and oven and 12 volt fridge. and ample storage for pots pans and crockery.

All cabins have hanging lockers and good storage.

Webasto Air blown heater with two outlet saloon and heads.for drying waterproofs.
