The Koopmans 40 “Alcyone” is a sturdy classic design by Koopmans Sr, characterized by seaworthiness, comfort, performance and safety. The experienced sailor can sail it short-handed quite easily and the cutter rigging makes it easy to reef in steps. A lot has been invested since 2017, including new rigging, boom, genoa and cutter jib furling systems, equipment, salon upholstery, watermaker and bow thruster.
