Summary
The 1991 X-Yachts X-412 Mk1 blends classic Scandinavian craftsmanship with true offshore performance, offering the perfect balance between fast passagemaking and comfortable family cruising. Designed by renowned Danish naval architect Niels Jeppesen, the X-412 quickly earned a reputation as one of the finest cruiser-racers of its era, with over 250 hulls built between 1990 and 2003.
This particular Mk1 version features the highly desirable modern 3-cabin, 2-head layout with a spacious linear galley to starboard, creating an open and practical interior ideally suited for extended cruising or comfortable liveaboard use. Rich teak joinery, excellent ventilation and generous natural light combine to deliver the warm, solid feel for which early X-Yachts are admired.
On deck, the X-412 offers clean lines, a powerful masthead sloop rig and the legendary X-Yachts galvanized steel frame construction, delivering exceptional stiffness, strength and sailing performance. The deep fin keel with bulb, balanced spade rudder and responsive helm provide confident handling under sail, whether cruising short-handed or participating in competitive offshore racing.
At 12.9 metres LOA with a beam of 3.9 metres, the X-412 combines elegant proportions with impressive interior volume. Accommodation includes three double cabins, two separate heads with showers, a large saloon and excellent storage throughout, making her equally capable as a bluewater cruiser or fast family yacht.
The X-412 remains widely respected among experienced sailors for its rare combination of performance, build quality and timeless design — a genuine modern classic from the golden era of performance cruising yachts.
