Construction
The Catalina 36 Mark II (built from 1994 to 2005) is an iconic coastal cruiser designed by Frank Butler and Gerry Douglas. It is highly regarded for its solid, conservative fiberglass construction, masthead sloop rig, and ergonomic, spacious layout.
Hull, Deck, and Keel Construction
Hull: Hand-laid solid fiberglass laminate with structural fiberglass liners, stringers, and bulkheads bonded directly to the hull for torsional rigidity.
Deck: Cored fiberglass construction for weight savings and thermal/acoustic insulation, heavily reinforced with aluminum backing plates at all deck hardware and chainplate attachments.
