Rare shoal draft 1987 Hylas 42, a blue water cruiser designed by German Frers and built in Taiwan. Renowned for her robust construction, timeless lines, and exceptional offshore capability. She features a unique split cockpit with dedicated sailing and social areas, a two-stateroom layout including owners aft cabin with centerline queen berth. Well-equipped for extended cruising with lithium batteries, solar panels, water-maker, portable generator, and washing machine. A rare find in today's market, this versatile and capable blue-water cruiser is waiting for her new owner.

Accommodation
The Hylas 42 is a spacious boat with a well thoughtout design. Good headroom (6' 4"). Starting forward the decent Vee berth has a large overhead hatch and plenty of storage under the berths. It also has access to the anchor locker. The saloon features a dining area with table, comfortably seating six, with full U settee to port and a full length straight settee to starboard, plenty of shelves and storage lockers. The forward facing Nav Station with chart table, drawers and electrical panel lies to starboard aft of the saloon. To port is the walk thru galley with 3 burner Shipmate propane gimballed stove with oven. Top loading fridge and freezer. S/S double sink with salt & fresh water foot pumps. And plenty of cupboard storage. The owners cabin features a queen centerline berth, plenty of teak cabinetry for clothes and full length mirror. The head to starboard separates the Nav station from the Owner's cabin with access both sides. The head has a wash basin, electric heads with holding tank and shower.

1987 Yanmar 4JH-TE diesel engine last serviced April 2026.100 amp balmar alternator with external regulator. Eng Hours Approx 4800. ZF-30M  transmissin drives a 3 bladed feathering prop.

Construction
Designed by German Frers and built in Taiwan by Queen Long Marine she is constructed of fiberglass with moulded decks and teak cockpit floors.  She has a fin lead ballast 'Scheel' keel and a spade hung rudder.  Last antifouled, hull completely stripped and epoxied with West System 2024. Small area of blisters have re-appeared on port side aft..
