Summary

Van de Stadt Falco 12m offshore steel hulled cruiser in - good condition and equipped to sail the world. This is an exceptional yacht in every way.

Cutter rigged with in mast furling and furling headsail and cutter stay. The rig is stayed for serious offshore cruising and she has a safe center cockpit.

Internally she is magnificent and has a large owners aft cabin and 3 singles with a 4th short single.

She benefits from blue water sailing equipment including Generator, Water maker, solar panels and wind and towable generators.

Hull

Steel hull painted with International Toplac Mediterranean White with Bounty Red stripe.

Steel deck with light blue Treadmaster.

Cockpit with laid Teak seats.

Whitlock wheel steering on binnacle with instrument mount.

3/4 length keel with steel ballast & skeg hung rudder.

Recent Ultrasound survey available.

Deck

The deck is easily navigated with a flat foredeck running from the well protected center cockpit, aft is a raised flat stern deck with mounted liferaft and dinghy storage. The side

decks are secured with Pulpit, Pushpits, double rail stanchions with side boarding gates and stainless steel guard wires.

The Treadmaster on the deck is in good condition and offers very good traction.

Deck hatches have removable security bars to stop un-authorised access when in port

Mechanical

Engine

Beta Marine 50hp 4cyl diesel engine with shaft drive via Hurth gearbox. Morse engine

controls. The engine compartment is accessible from 3 sides and has lighting and an

extractor fan. The engine is clean and in very good condition.

Deck Gear

Halyards and main control lines are led aft to the cockpit via Spinlock rope clutches. There are also rope clutches on the mast as backup/de-loading of rig.

In-mast mainsail reefing and headsail reefing is also lead aft.

Accommodation

Phalarope has an owners aft cabin, 'L' shaped galley, heads with shower and 3 single berths with one additional shorter berth.

Main Saloon

To port is a single settee with shelves outboard and the Reflex stove at the fwd end. This doubles up as a shorter berth. Opposite is a long single settee berth with lee cloth and

storage shelves outboard. There is a large, beautifuly varnished central table with oval wooden foot brace underneath.

Nav Station

Situated to starboard with chart table, electrical distribution panel and instrumentation.

Heads

Heads situated to starboard aft of the nav station. Stainless steel sink with pressurised H&C water and shower. Wet hanging locker and plenty of storage. 1 dorade vent in the heads and opening hatches.

Galley

Situated to port aft of the saloon is an 'L' shaped galley which continues along the access corridor to the aft owners suite. A good safe sea galley with proper amenities and stainless

steel 1 1/2 sinks with pressurised H&C water and manual sea water pump. 1 dorade vent above the galley. Opposite the galley is the engine compartment with great access.

Force 10 Gas oven with grill and 2 burners.

Waeco CU87/97 Top Loading fridge.

Stainless galley bar drops down to secure user at sea. This is solid enough to sit on!

Aft Owners suite

This is a fantastic cabin and a good size with a large double berth to starboard and a large curved sofa to port. There is a sink pod with stainless steel basin and pressurized H&C

water. Hanging locker and plenty of shelved storage some of which can be heated. The cabin is light and airy.

Forecabin

Two single berths in a 'V' format with storage under and deck hatch. Two hanging lockers plus shelves outboard.

General

Mahogany timber/furniture - Excelent condition.

Teak & Holly striped floor - You can see your reflection in the immaculate varnish!

Plenty of light via many hatches and hull portlights.

Additional storage under each of the cabin berths and saloon seats.

Phalarope (A Phalarope is a sea bird) is a heavy dispacement 3/4 keel steel cutter which is very capable, not only cruising home waters but also for long distance Blue water voyages.

She has crossed the Atlantic twice. Her displacement gives her a very sea kindly motion, she is well balanced on all points and is a pleasure to sail.
